It’s 2017 and that means…everyone and their dog will be crowded into globo gyms around the country waiting to get their turn on the stair master! At least until they realize working out is hard and they give up. But why go through all that waiting before the gym crowd dies down?
The solution? Get your workout on at home. To do this, you are left with two options. Converting a room inside your house and throwing in some gym equipment…or putting all that cumbersome and heavy equipment in the garage where you aren’t wasting valuable finished square footage. My preference? The garage. You have solid concrete underneath you, much higher ceilings, and when you drop your monster deadlift PR, you won’t shake the whole house.
Either way you choose to do it, there is a piece of equipment that I recommend to maximize your chosen space while allowing you to perform all the lifts in your programming.
It’s called a power rack. Rogue makes some awesome powder-coated racks that are bomb-proof and when you throw a bench in, allow you to accomplish all of your lifts. Here’s to a great 2017 and getting some garage-gym PR’s!
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
