Michele Wheeler, AIA, NCARB, CDT, has practiced architecture and interior design for nearly 16 years, specializing in high-end custom homes, commercial and hospitality projects.

 

After 12 years of leading design projects for two design firms, Michele

launched her own Utah-based venture: Design Collective West, Inc.

 

The company’s niche lies in its unique marriage of highly creative interior design paired with Michele's technical background in architectural documentation, scheduling, cost estimation and collaboration with on-site construction teams.

 

The firm provides discerning clients with a full range of interior design services, such as space planning, interior finish and fixture selections, interior construction drawings, as well as furniture design and procurement.  DCW’s strengths include its innovative design approach combined with clear vision, progressive thinking, problem solving, streamlined process, strong project management, thorough communication and detailed documentation.  The firm’s aesthetic rests within Michele's passion for thoughtfully curated, inspiring spaces that blend uniqueness with timelessness, and function with simplicity.

As company co-owner alongside his wife, James manages the all of the firm’s non design-oriented facets, including finance, operations, logistics, business strategy and development, facilities and resource management and trade accounts.  Prior to founding Design Collective West, James garnered extensive business training and entrepreneurial experience while working for several Fortune 500 companies in brand management, sales and finance.  James’ exceptional skills with numbers, problem-solving and relationship-building play key roles in the success of the trade account and furniture procurement components of the business.
